Kerala Monorail Corporation has reported progress on its Kozhikode monorail project. The project will be developed in two phases. Phase-I will be from Medical College to Mananchira and Phase-II will be from Mananchira to Meenchanda. Metro Rail Corporation, a consultant for the project, has completed all the groundwork ahead of commencement of the project. As of October 2013, land acquisition is underway. Work on the project is expected to commence by December 2013 and bidding process expected to be completed shortly. Kerala Road Fund Board is the nodal agency for the project.
