Punjab State Power Corporation is planning to set up a coal based thermal power plant in Hoshiapur District of Punjab. The project involves setting up 2x660 MW Coal Based TPP at village Sandhwal, in Hoshiapur Distt., in Punjab. The land requirement will be 1200 acres which is an agricultural land.As of October 2013, the project has received first level of environment clearance from Ministry of Environment and Forests.
