West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company is planning to take up the Teesta Intermediate Hydro-Electric Project is located on river Teesta, near Melli village of Darjeeling District in West Bengal. All the project components are located on the left bank of the river with its power house at the barrage toe. As of October 2013, the project has received first level of environment clearance from Ministry of Environment and Forests.
