Uttam Galva Metallics, a group company of M/s Uttam Galva Steel Ltd is planning to enhance the installed production capacity of the plant from 0.47 MTPA to 1.0 MTPA of Hot Metal and 0.5 MTPA Long Products. The project comprises installing facilities such as Sinter plant, Blast furnace, Basic oxygen furnace, Ladle furnace, Billet cum Bloom caster, Oxygen plant, Pig casting machine, Coke oven and byproduct plant and a waste gas based Captive power plant. As of October 2013, the project is awaiting clearance from state pollution control authorities.
