Nuclear Power Corporation of India is planning to set up a nuclear power project at Gorakhpur in Faridabad district in Haryana. The first unit of the project will become operational in 36 months from commencement of construction. The 2nd unit will follow with a gap of six months on project timeline. As of December 2013, Nuclear Power Corporation of India has sought the approval of Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) for setting up the project.
