Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore is planning to set up a sulphuric acid manufacturing facility in Cochin. The project will offer an opportunity to optimize cost by power generation from the waste steam which is generated from the sulphuric acid plant. As of November 2013, the project is in the planning stage.
