Neyveli Lignite Corporation is planning to take up a opencast mining project in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan. The proposed mine will have a capacity of 2.25 million tonnes per annum. As of November 2014, the Expert Appraisal Committee has recommended environment clearance for the project.
