Essar Power has reported progress on its pithead-based coal power unit at Tori in Latehar district of Jharkhand. Phase-I of the project comprises two units of 600 MW capacity and Phase-II of the project will have 600 MW capacity. As of December 2013, the company has received environmental clearance from the Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF).
