Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board is planning to set up a 100 MW Waste to Energy power plant. Power will be generated using 1,000 million litre per day of sewage produced in Bangalore. As of January 2014, the board has identified 14 sewage treatment plants (STP) where methane gas can be produced from sewage.
