Assam Power Generation Corporation is planning to take up gas engine-based lakwa replacement power project in Sibsagar district of the state. As of January 2014, bids have been invited for design and engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning, including all civil and allied works of 70 MW (nominal) gas engine-based Lakwa replacement power project at Lakwa Thermal Power Station.
