The Ministry of Railways and Government of Karnataka are jointly planning to set up a rail coach factory in Karanataka. The project is planned on 1,100 acres of land to be provided by State government free of cost. As of January 2014, Ministry of Railways and Government of Karnataka have signed the a memorandum of understanding for setting up the project.
