Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam has reported progress on its Lakhwad multi-purpose project at Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. The proposed project comprises 300 MW power plant, 33,780 ha irrigation facility, and 78.83 million cu mtr drinking water facility. In November 2013, the project received Stage-I forest clearance. As of February 2014, the project has received final forest clearance from the Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF).
