Maharashtra State Power Generation Co is planning to set up a 50 MW solar power project in Baramati district of Maharashtra. Based on a EoI tender floated by MAHAGENCO, three companies namely Tata Power, Welspun Energy, and Essel Power have shown interest to set up the project in PPP basis. For the project, MAHAGENCO will arrange the land, the necessary approvals, and distribution infrastructure. As of February 2014, the developer is to be identified shortly.
