Supra Steel & Power is planning to expand its Sponge Iron Plant from 50 TPD to 200 TPD along with installation of Induction Furnace (30,000 TPA), Rolling Mill (75,000 TPA) and Captive Power Plant (4 MW) at Village Halkundi, Taluq & District Bellary, Karnataka. As of January 2013, the project has been accorded environment clearance by Ministry of Environment and Forests.
