Government of Delhi is planning to take up Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project in the state connecting Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut. The project will connect Delhi with Meerut, Panipat and Alwar by high speed trains.The project is mooted by National Capital Regional Planning Board (NCRPB) and also supported by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). As of June 2014, the project has been approved by the state government.
