NTPC has reported progress on its Barethi Super Thermal Power Project coming up in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. As of July 2014, the company has invited bids for main plant turnkey package for Barethi Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-I project. The project will be executed in four phases and each phase will have 660 MW capacity. The coal requirement for the project will be met from Banai coal block in Chhattisgarh.
