Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation is planning to develop a metro rail project that envisages 23 km north-south corridor connecting Lucknow Airport to Munshi Pulia with three underground and 18 elevated stations. Delhi Metro Rail Corp is the nodal agency for the project. As of July 2014, the Uttar Pradesh government has formed a committee for acquiring private land for the project. Work on the project is expected to commence from October 2014.
