Spark Green Energy (Satara) is setting up a 25 MW biomass-based power project in Satara district of Maharashtra. The Rs.1420 million project is is proposed to be funded through term loans of Rs. 970 million and equity contribution of Rs. 450 million. As of January 2013, the company has tied-up the Energy Purchase Agreement (EPA) for the project with BEST at discounted tariff rates. The power plant would be utilizing mainly cane trash from its adjoining area as fuel.
