Nuclear Power Corp of India is setting up 6x1,000-megawatt (Mw) project at Mithivirdi, Gujarat.The project site is located on the western side of the Gulf of Khambhat. The Mithivirdi project will be implemented in twin units in a phased manner within 10 years. The first twin unit is scheduled to be completed by 2019-20. The stage-II will be completed in 2021-22 and the stage-III in 2023-24. As of January 2013, Engineers India , the consultant for the project has completed a preliminary report for the environmental impact assessment for the first stage of the project.
