Adani Mining & Power is planning to set up a coal based thermal power plant at Angul district in Orissa. The power plant will source raw material (coal washery rejects) from the Machhakata and Chhendipada coal blocks. As of September 2014, the company is looking for few sites for setting up the project and the exact location will be finalized within few months. Also, the company is expected to sign an MoU with the state government for setting up the project shortly.
