The pit turbine, which is a variation of the bulb turbine, also finds its application in the head range of 1.5 to 10 m unit capacity below 15MW. The generator (with a speed-increasing gearbox) is contained within the upstream pit. Its efficiency is better than S-type tubular turbine unit and its cost is lower than bulb tubular unit. The pit configuration has the advantage of easy access to all the equipment components, in particular the coupling of turbine and speed increaser, the speed increaser itself and the generator. This facilitates inspection, maintenance and repair.
Our tubular turbines are ranging from 1.5m to 10m in water head, 50KW to 8MW in capacity, and 0.4 to 5.5m in runner diameter
